The afternoon was crisp, frigid. The air bit at every piece of flesh that was able to be observed by the human eye. The sweltering cold proceeded to make breathing hard for even the natives of this nearly arctic waste land. It was unseasonably cold that day. March 2nd, one year ago. The day was peaceful. Children ran around outside, not caring how cold it was.
The children were the offspring of American, Russian, and German soldiers who made their home in an Army base, on the outskirts of the city. It was a large base, enough to house the entire American army if needed. The kids were playing a simple game of tag in the front lawn of the base. Their parents were looking on with gentle enthusiasm. A few of the adults looked on with discomfort as their children fell into the frosty grass on the ground.
Aries was sitting with the parents of the children, looking uncomfortable with sitting next to them. She was visibly young. Her body was incredibly slender, her facial features soft and genteel. Her hair was long, and blood red. Her beautiful jade green eyes told a story of poverty and hardship. Her skin tanned to perfection. She was perfection in the eyes of most of the men at the base, but was far from it.
She wasn't vain about her appearance, and she could have cared less even if the men were bowing at her feet, even though they practically were. That's what set her apart from the other female soldiers at the base. They'd all established that she would be the only one most of the guys would want, all the time.
She sat cross-legged in the grass, watching the children playing, and the parents soon joining into the fun. A twinge of longing pulled at Aries's heart. She longed for her family, who'd all been dead for 16 years by now. She could barely remember her mothers face...and her scent. She turned away then, and rose to her feet. She staggered a bit, and then caught her balance. She turned from them all and shuffled her way into the large base.
The entry through the large doors made her feel like she was entering a castle. A castle that was filled with lust-stricken men, and jealous-bound women. She gave a sniff as the eyes of men followed her as she walked past them. Aries gave them all an irritated look, promising them they would never get to lay a hand on her. She climbed down a flight of stairs to her dorm. Everyone in this base had their own rooms, with their own bathrooms. It had been close to heaven for those who'd been in a normal base, which had none of those nice things.
She unlocked the door to her dorm, and closed it behind her. She took in a slow breath and closed her eyes. She had been training all day and was in desperate need of a wash up. She undressed quickly and hopped in the shower to do just that. She exited her shower soon, and dressed back into her combat uniform. She ran her fingers through her wet hair and sighed. She pulled it up into a long ponytail, that still managed to flow down to her hips.
She stepped out of her room then, and made her way partially up the stairs. She looked to her side. The clock struck the time of 2:16pm, and suddenly the world began to tremble. Literally. Aries ran up the rest of the stairs and into the cafeteria. There was a commotion happening. Mothers had coaxed their kids inside, and looked slightly fearful.
"What's happening?" Aries asked a man next to her. He looked to her and then pointed out of the window. Hundreds of thousands of creatures were lumbering towards the base, looking thirsty for something. One thing. The blood of the humans that they were denied in Asgard.
They were rising up from cracks in the Earth, covered in dirt and grime. Aries turned around, looking back to the stairs now. They were coming up from the bottom floor as well. She turned quickly. "Get the children to a safe area! They are coming up from the basement too! I'm going to go check downstairs for anyone still down there." Aries turned, but the man grabbed her arm.
"Anyone who'd been down there will be dead now, no doubt. It's no use, Private." the man said softly. "You heard the girl! At least she's making sense! Get to a safe place with the children. All able bodied men and woman, get out onto the battlefield. All mothers stay with your kid." the man commanded.
Aries snapped up into attention in a flat second, "Major!" she said, before turning and running towards the armory, like every other man and woman who was leaving to fight. The ground's shaking ceased and Aries turned to look at the man behind her, as she was grabbing her weapons. He suddenly hit the floor, one of the monsters standing behind him, a human heart in its filthy hand.
"H-how did they get in here?" she whispered to herself as every other person turned to look at what just happened. The monster was looking at the rest of them with the same look of blood lust. It popped the mans heart into its mouth, and bit down, blood dripping down it's mouth as it watched all of them.
Aries began to feel sick to her stomach. What a disgusting creature. She grew tense as it looked towards another human, and lumbered forward. Aries, by instinct, rushed forward, and then behind it, forcing her sword right up through its head. It gave a blood curdling scream, and then fell forward, dead. "Get your butts out of here and get fighting!" Aries snarled at them all. She turned herself, and paced out of the room, passing more men and women who were running to get their weapons.
The anxiety that had been creeping up on Aries took hold of her, and she glanced quickly from side to side. She breathed in slowly, rushing out into the cold afternoon air. What Aries saw then has been haunting her for nearly a year now.
Thousands of the Demonic creatures were scavenging on the flesh of human corpses, recently killed. They were feasting on her comrades...the people she trusted with her own life. She looked down around her, watching flesh being ripped off the bones of humans...strip...by...long...strip...the grass under her feet ran read with the blood of her comrades, and she grew sick to her stomach, dropping to her knees and vomiting. The Demonic seemed taken aback by this, and kept their distance, not liking the stench. The Demonic heading towards her reared down like they were ready to jump...
Every sense in Aries's body went into overdrive, and she breathed in heavily, looking up at the sky as Demonic jumped over her and into the door of the military base. Panic struck at her heart, and she turned tail, rushing back into the building, pulling her gun and taking out the Demonic in front of her.
Her steps were sped up as the screams of terrified children filled the air around her head. She twisted around, taking a few more shots at another Demonic, before turning down the hall way she had so recently left. Aries sprinted down the hallway, turning into the room where she had heard the screaming. The tiny voices pleading for help. From anyone...
She swung the door open, and observed as a couple Demonic began devouring two the the children that were in the room. All the soldiers that were stationed here had been killed, their blood traveling slowly towards a dip in the floor, where is began to pool. Bright, scarlet.
Aries felt a snarl rip through her throat, and she launched forward, pulling her sword from the sheathe, and running it straight through both Demonic, at the very same time. A shot was fired, and Aries felt a massive pain in her knee, that brought her down on her other one. The sound of a small voice filled her ears.
"I'm sorry, ma'am! I was trying to help." the tiny male soldier looked intimidated, scared out of his own wits. Aries took in a sharp breath, and pulled the sword from the bodies of the two dead Demonic. She settled herself against the wall, observing her injury, quickly and efficiently Her knee cap had been shattered by the bullet, and there was simply no movement in her knee at all. She took off her jacket, and then the T-Shirt over it, leaving her in a tank top, and began ripping the T-Shirt to shreds. She made a tourniquet for herself, wrapping it tightly around her leg to stop the bleeding.
The pain in her leg made her voice weak. She felt slightly dizzy now. “No matter. Do you have a radio with you, or know where one is?” she asked calmly. The man nodded, shutting and locking the door behind him. Aries stood straight up, following him as he moved towards the other side of the room. The eyes of thirty children followed them as Aries dragged her now useless leg behind her. The pain was intense, enough to make her want to die right then and there, but she kept herself upright, wanting to fight and protect these children.
The man moved towards a single desk in the room, and pulled over a drawer, quickly rummaging through the contents before pulling out a small CV Radio. Aries took it from him, and quickly turned it on. She waited impatiently until a signal was found. “Command...this is Sargent Randalle of the Moscow Military base. We are under attack...by creatures...I don't even know what they are. But they are eating humans...Myself and a Private are barred in a room, protecting thirty children right now. We are in need of transportation to get these kids out of here!” she said with a rush into the microphone.
The Private standing next to her took the microphone from her, pushing down on the button to speak. “We are also in need of Medical attention. Sargent Randalle is badly injured.” he said, his voice shaking. The reply came, signaling that help would be coming as soon as possible.
Aries settled herself back against the wall, reloading bullets into her gun. The pain in her body was becoming almost unbearable. She felt a sweat forming on her forehead, and she breathed in heavily. She looked to the children, and smiled hopefully. “We will get you out of here, safe and sound.” she said gently. She looked to the Private. “If you can, take the bodies of the two children and the soldiers, as well as these demonic things, and push them out the window. Then please rip that desk apart and board the windows up. We need to make sure this place can't be gotten into until the help arrives.
The Private nodded, and quickly got to work. One of the children, a teenager of only fifteen stood up and rushed towards Aries. She looked startled as the boy sat down next to her, holding a First Aid Kit. He looked at her as if asking for her permission, and Aries didn't answer. He took it as a yes, and took out a pocketknife. He cut her pant leg open, observing her wound. “My mother was teaching me first aid, until she was killed...” he sounded hurt as he looked back over to the Private who was pushing his mother's body out the window of the room.
The sound of gunfire and screaming all around them made Aries's head swim with terror, but she had to put up a strong front for these kids. She watched the boy without saying anything as he quickly rummaged through the kit. He pulled out a bottle of medical alcohol and opened it. He was quick in his movements and motioned for a teenager of an older age to help him. The other boy held Aries's leg down, right as the boy with the bottle poured the alcohol on her wound to clean it.
Aries threw her head back, holding back a scream of agony as the liquid washed over her leg. She took in sharp breaths, panting heavily. She dug her nails into the wood floor until they were bleeding. The boys then slowly pulled the bullet out of the large wound on Aries's knee. Aries felt like she could die right then and there, and again, the only thing keeping her awake and alive were the lives of these children.
She leaned back, closing her eyes for a moment as the searing pain continued. She groaned as the lifted her leg and began to wrap it up in a tight bandage. The second boy handed her a small packed and a canteen. “Pain killers. Take them.” he ordered, sounding just like a parent now. Nonetheless, Aries's didn't object. She ripped open the package and dropped the pills into her palm, and then popped them into her mouth, taking a swig of water, and swallowing.
“They will make you feel drowsy, but it'll get rid of most of the pain.” the first boy said now. “We're going to be alright, right? We'll be saved soon?” he asked now, looking at all of the smaller children. Aries gazed at him with deep green eyes. She nodded slowly.
“I would die before I let another Demonic get a hold of any of you.” she said softly, and then looked up to the Private. He looked tired. He'd finished all he was ordered to do. Aries tossed him the canteen and he took a small sip, looking at her calmly, with a look on his face that asked her if she was alright. She only nodded, and the boys began to clean up the mess that they had made. She watched all of the other kids now, who looked terrified to no end. “I promise.” she said softly.
She flinched as the sounds of screaming and more gunfire filled the air inside of the room. The screaming was becoming louder by the minute. It sounded like all of Moscow was being murdered, which was probably the truth. Aries pushed herself up from the floor, and limped over to one of the boarded up window. She peaked through a crack and observed the world outside. The sky had turned red, the light now reflecting off the blood on the ground of Moscow's streets. Aries turned away abruptly, and settled back down, now under the window.
All of the children watched her now. Aries breathed in heavily. “Alright...Private...I'm not going to be able to stay conscious much longer, I need you to wake me if...if those demonic creatures get in here...” she whispered, feeling the threads of exhaustion and sleepiness pulling her into their depths. The world went black, and Aries felt herself drift off into a deeply disturbed sleep.
The sound of a large plane woke her and she looked up as the boards were being sawed away from the window. The sound of mens yells were filling the air so close to Aries. The wood was pulled out, and a man lifted himself over the threshold of the window, looking down to see a nearly asleep Aries. The pain in her leg was returning and she was beginning to break out in a sweat again. He then looked forward to all the children. “We've got a large plane, and men holding off the creatures. Children, single file, out of the window and to the plane. We'll keep you safe.
Aries, from her position on the floor helped the smaller children up and into the arms of soldiers who ran them to the plane. After every child was in the plane, a few of the soldiers jumped into the room, to look at Aries's wound. By now she was fully awake. She rose to her feet, and the soldier began to object, telling her that she needed to rest, and they would carry her to the plane. Aries shook her head firmly now. “I'm not leaving. My leg will be fine. I'm going to try and help other people now.” she said coldly. The men began to object, but the look Aries threw towards them made them pause, and nod. Another soldier came into the room, holding a brace. He put it around her leg and told her to bend it. The pain was much, but it helped her to be able to walk.
She stepped around in a couple circles, ignoring the pain her leg. She nodded her thanks, and walked out of the room. She made it out the front doors, and ran straight into a Demonic. In an instant, her blade found it's way through the monsters head, and it fell over dead, with a long moan of agony. She pulled her blade free, and set into a brisk pace, spotting a couple of other humans still fighting. The carnage of the place was extensive, and the blood of humans and Demonic alike mixed in large pools on the ground.
As she reached the other humans, and threw herself in the midst of battle, they looked at her with looks of approval...for once. She ran her sword through on Demonic, and pulled it forcefully out and straight into the head of another, all the while keeping other Demonic from the other humans. With every second that she fought, her body became all the more exhausted. She turned and shot one last Demonic, breathing heavily, as all the soldiers fell into a circular formation. She glanced at them all, nodding slowly her welcome to them, before stepping forward. She looked to the side, seeing many more Demonic charging their way.
“Creatures!” Aries yelped, pointing her gun and shooting. She felt a tugging on her arm, behind her, and she turned, seeing that a Demonic had a hold of it. All the soldiers around her had been killed without a single sound. Fear crept up her spine, and she struggled to get away from the Demonic holding her, and the ones that were charging her. She pulled her right arm free, and shot the Demonic in front of her, killing it quickly, before feeling a new pain. This time in her left arm. She turned her head, right as a Demonic ripped her arm from it's socket...and from her body.
She let out an agonizing scream, throwing her right arm forward and shooting all the Demonic in front of her. She quickly wrapped the new wound, ignoring the pain that threatened her demise. She continued one with her fighting, for three days. With every human she tried to protect, they all died. She was beginning to lose all hope by the second day of the fighting. All the while her leg was becoming more and more painful, and infection began to spread into her arm. By the third day, she'd given up all hope of helping anyone, and began to fend for just herself.
She sauntered slowly across the battlefield, observing. There wasn't a single Demonic left in sight. They all seemed to have spread out across Russia in the last couple days. Cowards. Aries was holding a deep wound on her side, limping towards the military base once more. Just days before she had saved thirty children...and in the days past, she had lost hundreds. She felt a chill creeping into her body, overtaking every part of her. Her mind had grown blank and she'd become unresponsive with all of the carnage of the last couple days.
She stepped carefully into the base for the last time, and collapsed against a wall just to the side of the large double doors. She leaned her head back, blood dripping down the corner of her mouth as she closed her eyes to the world. It was quiet...desolate...forever silenced. She felt herself drifting away into a deep sleep for the first time in days. Her need for sustenance was growing, she'd die without water if she didn't get it soon. And that should have been her first priority, but she couldn't bring herself to move anymore. Every part of her body hurt, riddled with wounds and broken bones. She blinked drowsily a couple times, before closing her eyes. The world around her turned black...she was gone...dead to the world that she had so loved...
Everything she had gone through in the past three days came rushing back to her in a matter of moments, or she thought it was moments. Every breath she'd taken, she relived. She felt anxiety rushing through her body. She couldn't breathe. She was being forced to see everything all over again. Everything that she didn't want to see. That she didn't want to bear. She could hear herself screaming, she just couldn't wake up. She screamed louder, pain searing the nerves in her arms and legs. She wanted to wake up! She wanted to die! She tried to move, but she was met with a sense of something holding her down. Everything was going so wrong...she just wanted out...
She suddenly opened her eyes, screams ripping through her throat. Tears were running down her cheeks. She looked around wildly, like she wasn't even human anymore. People were suddenly around her, trying to quiet her down. “Aries! Aries! You are alright now! You aren't in Moscow anymore! Calm down!” one man said, trying to hold her down so she'd stop trying to thrash and get away, which she'd begun trying to do when they first grabbed her.
There was an IV in her arm, and a liquid was being pumped into her bloodstream. A Doctor ran into the room, injecting a new liquid into the IV, which made Aries feel calm once again. She lay back, breathing heavily, still gazing around with a terrified look on her features. She suddenly looked down at herself, praying to God that all of Moscow had been a dream. Her heart sunk instantly.
In place of the stub that had once been where her arm was, was a prosthetic limb, made of a dark black metal. Her threw off her blankets, looking at her knee, which had been completely replaced. She looked up at the Doctors. “It wasn't a dream...” she whispered, tears running down her cheeks. She took in a sharp breath, and lay back once more, closing her eyes. “I was hoping so badly that it was a dream...” she whimpered now.
“We all do...” one of the Doctors soothed now. Aries looked at him with a look of pure hatred. She wanted to launch herself at him, wanted to make him feel what she herself and hundreds of thousands of other people had felt in Moscow. She sat up, still looking at the Doctor.
“You don't know what it was like! You never will! You weren't there! You won't ever know what it feels like to watch all of your comrades die in front of you! You didn't watch those...those monsters rip the flesh off the people that you worked with! You didn't hear the screaming...the cries for help...you didn't watch children being ripped apart and tossed aside like a toy...” she was hysterical now, tears running down her cheeks. She sobbed, pressing her hands over her eyes and rocking back and forth.
The Doctors began working again to calm her once again, and she tried to resist them. The soon gave up and injected her IV with a drug to put her asleep. She drifted away for the third time, and this time put up a fight. She'd be made to relive it again and again, and she didn't want that. She wanted free. She couldn't take it anymore. She'd go insane if this kept up..
As the weeks wore on, she continued to wake up with terrors of Moscow stuck in her mind. The Doctors began to help her learn how to walk once more, since her knee had been completely replaced. One the first day, she broke down, vomiting from the agony that gripped her when she had tried to walk. Her arm was even worse when it began raining. She could keep nothing down, for the dampness in the air made the nerves flair and hurt her like it was Moscow all over again.
The months wore on and on, and the pain never ended. It hurt worse and worse the more she moved around. She'd become used to it, but still had moments when the pain overtook her body and she broke down once more. Five months after Moscow she'd been injected with the DNA of a Demonic, as an experiment for the Project. The pain had instantly left her body, and she found out later that the DNA had healed all the nerve endings in both her knee and her arm, which had been causing her the problems with pain.
What was even more terrifying was the day she found out what her powers were. She'd been sent back to Moscow, where the rotting bodies of her comrade's still lay. She had become enraged, and set the whole field on fire, without even meaning to. She also remembered the pain that came with it. The sheer exhaustion of it.
Suddenly, every memory began flashing in the back of her mind, playing over and over again, never ending. Everything was beginning to hurt again. And she couldn't breathe...like she was being drowned...
This was all a dream...reliving everything that had happened in Moscow. She knew for sure that it had happened one year ago...She was so sure of that. She was safe in her bed in a Military Base in China. She knew she was screaming. Screaming at the top of her lungs. Her only fear was reliving all that had happened in Moscow. She brought herself to a record high, screaming at the top of her lungs. She shot up in bed, drenched in sweat, tears running down her cheeks. Her throat hurt from her screaming.
She pushed the covers off of her body, and pulled her knees up to her chest. She wrapped both arms around her legs, breathing in heavily, whispering in German to herself that everything was going to be alright. She hated reliving those moments, they brought back things she didn't want to remember, ever. She got up out of bed, hoping that she didn't wake any of the soldiers up. She hadn't had an episode of night terrors that bad for nearly six months. They were always small. She sighed softly, and stepped across the wood floor of her room.
She moved towards her bathroom. She stood in front of the mirror, looking at herself. She looked dead, sad. Sweat still ran down the side of her face. She breathed in slowly, turning the water on, and splashing cold liquid on her cheeks. Her dog tags fell forward on her neck, and she took hold of the black metal, observing the silver letters engraved into them. “General Aries Enyanna Randalle” they read, as well as her ID number. She ripped them off her neck, not caring if they left a mark and threw them down into the sink bowl, before looking back into the mirror.
She froze, seeing the face of a monster where her reflection was supposed to be. She stood frozen, and suddenly let forth a scream of sheer terror. That wasn't her. She didn't want to see the face of a Demonic. It began to speak to her, and she shook her head backing up and away from the mirror. It kept saying two words over and over. “Kill humans...”
She hit the wall behind her, standing frozen against it. She she shook her head again, whispering the word “no” over and over again. She felt her sanity slipping away...Daimon was right. She'd died in Moscow. She was just and empty shell here. A human with no purpose than to kill the Demonic that had brought this death upon their world.
The words the Demonic in the mirror was saying became louder and louder in her mind, and she struggled to shut it up. She rushed forward suddenly, aiming her right arm to break the mirror. It shattered into hundreds of pieces, and the voices stopped. She fell back against the wall, blood slowly running down her lip, and down her arm from her punching the mirror with her bare hand. Her eyes glazed over, and she looked distant now. She slid down the wall, not saying anything more. She was breathing heavily though.
She soon came too, hoping that she hadn't woken anyone in the base up, for the second time. She cursed at herself, leaning her head forward, and letting silent tears fall now. “Why couldn't I save them...? Was I not strong enough...?” she whispered to herself now, looking like she was losing herself more by the second.
She lay there, among shards of the broken mirror, her own blood, and sweat. The voices began again. Voices of the Demonic swimming in her mind. What was going on? What did those scientists to do her? She breathed heavily, trying to get the voices to go away. No matter how much she pleaded, the voices just became louder and louder by the second. She wished someone was there to help her break out of this prison that was her mind.
She couldn't move, her body paralyzed. She couldn't even move her eyes, which had glazed over once again as she lay against the wall, on the bathroom floor. She was losing herself more and more as time went on. She mentally pleaded for someone to have been awoken by her screaming. She'd be able to wake her from this terror. She began pleading for help, knowing she couldn't be heard...

His eyes were cold, dark metalic in the darkness. They shined bright, they shined like metal in the sun. He bit his lip letting blood run down his cheek down his neck down his chest. He gripped his hands through his gloves, his fingernails sunk into his flesh. Horrible, horrible... he was a monster. The blood ran down his body crimson red as always. The horrible blood of a half demonic half human creature that seemed to enjoy nothing more then killing regardless of the rest of the worlds view on the subject. He killed demonic, he was a soldier, he had always been a soldier, he would fight until he died.
_______ The memories are the worst part. Its like being stabbed 1000s upon 1000s of times with blades, the pain was so intense that Daimon felt his soul shatter, his world become black and everything around him mute. The sound of ringing in his ears still fills his head every moment of every day. Life is insanity. ______
He was a Lieutenant. Life was happy, the world was happy. War had not been a threat many years and the Americans and the Russians were not at each others throats any more. Finally the world had settled down. Everything was great, even the training. Speznaz soldiers were conditioned under the most brutal training, they have been for as long as they were established. They were the strongest, bravest, and best Russia had to offer. Daimon took pride in this, and his father the commander of the Speznaz of Russia, took great pride in his son.
The young Lt Daimon stretched, his muscles toned and very pale. his soft blue eyes seemed to glow intensely as he looked at his mother and father, as they set around the table. It was Thanksgiving and his father and him both war civillian clothing, they both wore Suits. They were nice dress suits, and they were extremely expensive. Daimon smiled softly as he took a plate of his mothers burnt cooking. "thanks mom." He mused gently. "Son, You know how proud of you we are for graduating from the academy." his mother said.
"hes still a loser." His little sister giggled. Daimon looked at her with a raised eyebrow. He was far to mature to fight with his baby sister. But he would get her back for that comment. His father laughed and then passed him the rolls. "well boy... I mean umm Lieutenant, Its good to have you in my battalion." the older man laughed, and Daimon joined him. His father had slightly grey hair, yet the man seemed more alive then anyone Daimon had ever known. The guy was intense, he was extreme, he was already ready to go. He was already ready to jump up and fight. It was one thing Daimon admired about his father. The man could outrun him, out gun him and out shine him in everything daimon could dream of. That was life though, that was Daimons life.
They ate, the happiness of his family and their love filled Daimons young heart with hope and joy. The world seemed to be a good place. However, the truth is love is just a joke that the world made up for ironic humor. It was as though his happiness was at its peak that day. He spent a wonderful Christmas with his folks and the new year 2034 looked like it was going to be a happy one. He was already a respected officer in the Speznaz and was on his way to following in his fathers footsteps. The man had massive foot steps in this case. It would be hard to live up to his fathers image. To the Russian People The man was a hero. General Syron Cross... A true hero.
__________
Life is about change, Life is change, Life is a joke. Irony is all around us in every living thing. Its the worlds way of laughing at you. Its sad, yet men set themselves up for irony. Being happy is simply a way of diluding the true reality that is our existances. The Invasion of moscow was not a normal battle. Normal battles are fought against creatures you understand, men just like you who fear you. The demonic fear nothing.
The demonic came upon them in hordes, it was horrific. It was a strike without warning. So many were killed upon an instant. Daimons house was not first to be hit. However soldiers were out in the streets fighting, ready for anything or so they thought. Daimon and his father pulled his mother and the rest of their family together and tried to get them to the barracks down town. The two of them pulled on their Ak-74U's, and took off. Daimons Mother Julia and his little sister followed them, careful not to get caught. They were quite, extremely quite and they slipped by the demonic at first. However the things seemed like they could smell them. It was horrific. Daimons eyes glew in the darkness as him and his family lurked in the darkness. "Its ok boy... We got this." His father reasured him. Irony... Irony is everywhere, even in the voice of a hero. Instantly a demonics arm peirced through his fathers chest. They were surrounded. Daimon fired at the monster killing it but his father hit the ground. He turned shooting demonic after demonic, until they pounced toward him. His mother threw herself in front of him. "RUN!!" SHe screamed in agony. Daimon grabbed his sister by the arm and drug her as fast as he could through the streets in a frantic display. He heard the screams of his mother cry out behind him. Her angelic voice was twisted in pain and sorrow.
Tears ran down his cheek as he ran with his baby sister. However they were cut off by a wave of demonic. Soldiers moved in and took the demonic out. They rushed Daimon and his baby sister into a small building. "Lt, Wheres the commander?" They asked. Daimon was crying... He ran his hand over his face, wiping the tears. "Dead. I failed to protect him." The men seemed sypathetic and all was quite just for a second. More irony. Daimon was with the soldiers, and moscow would be saved right? It had to be saved... No... Nothing is ever saved, we simply exist a moment longer just to be destroyed in the agony that is the bliss of Souls.
Nothing... is ever safe. The demonic rushed into the small building the group of soldiers had taken and tried to fortify. The soldiers tried to fight but were slaughtered. Daimon turned moving out the door he grabbed his little sister by the hand but the monsters had gotten her and were tearing her legs off and daimon had to leave her. Her screams were the screams of an innocent child. tears ran down his cheeks as the coward ran. He ran... and ran and ran. He found a platoon up ahead evacuating people. "Sir! Your alive." One of his men called. He was crying and had to wipe the tears off. "Get the chopper ready." He ordered. "but sir, we need you!" the man cried out. Daimon hit him in the face. "Get the fucking chopper ready." He ordered. The man complied and Daimon pulled himself into the chopper leaving behind everyone in his frenzy.
______________
The scream made him awake. The scream of his commander. He ran to her room. His hair fell in front of his eyes. He saw her laying there and his words escaped his lips without thought as blood ran down his own lips. "Mam... Its ok. Im here." He whispered pulling her up in his arms and setting her on her feet." Its alright."He leaned her against the wall, as a soldier would do." His eyes were cold and dark.

Aries's eyes fluttered, and she looked incredibly distant, like she was no longer there. Her green eyes had a hint of red in them. It suddenly disappeared when a sharp breath was sucked up into her throat, and she leaned forward, coughing up her own blood onto the floor. She then looked back up at him, feeling only one of his hands on her shoulders. The other was gone. Completely gone.
She breathed in heavily, looking slowly up at him. She pulled away and sat on the edge of the toilet, "I need to sit down..." she muttered, her voice weak. She instantly began pulling the glass from the broken mirror out of her arm, breathing in slowly as every piece was pulled from the deep lacerations. She looked back up at him, tears in her eyes. The tears of agony that any soldier who'd truly fought in Moscow would some day bear.
"I'm sorry I woke you..." she whispered now, "I haven't had a terror that bad in almost six months...I don't know what happened this time...but it was just so...clear...every detail of what I saw...the pain was real...losing my knee...my arm...I felt that same pain once again..." she began rambling now, looking tired. She then glared up at him suddenly.
"I need you to do something for me, Daimon. I know for sure...nearly for sure...soon I won't be...normal anymore...I don't know whats happening to me, but I'm slipping away...my sanity is leaving me...When I finally snap...you will be in charge...until I can regain myself...if I can regain myself..." she whispered now. Her accent was flourishing her words so strongly now. She'd never let it show that she even had one. But here, she showed her true German nature.
Genteel, calm...just needing someone's shoulder to cry on. She leaned back, watching as the wounds on her arm began to heal right before her eyes. "I won't bother you with an useless story of what happened in Moscow..." she muttered. Though, truth was, there was nothing more she wished to do than to let everything go, right then and there. She ran her hands through her red hair, standing up. "I need a new mirror..." she mused, trying to sound like her normal self, but it came out dull, flat, dead. Just like she truly was...dead in the sense of the world...never to see the actual light that lit the sky. It was all fake...everything she was was fake, just a mask to keep her looking strong, when in truth she was gentle and kind at heart...like she'd always been.
She didn't know how to act now, as she stepped forward and settled on the edge of her bed, leaving Daimon, if he'd stayed in the other room. She hadn't waited for any answers from him.

"Director... I will do as you ask. I ask only this, if my sanity leaves me and I become like them, kill me and do it fast." he asked. He walked in there his eyes peirced her. "Do not hide your sorrow from me, I was there that day. I lost my soul the same day you did." He watched her. "You didnt really wake me, I had night mare... well more a memory but then again they are pratically the same thing these days." He spoke softly. He slid down her wall sitting there in front of her. He wondered should he hug her? Like he would do for a woman? No, She was a soldier first and a woman second, or so he thought. She was not his friend, he had to remember that, she was a superior officer.
And yet they were the same. He sat there watching her for a moment. "We should get a medic to look at your arm, just to avoid complications." He remarked rather delicately. He wondered how she would reply. His eyes peirced hers. "Director, what makes you think Im fit to lead the army? Im... Unstable, to say the least. Im a coward." He whispered softly. "A coward who Fled moscow. Do you want a man like that in charge of the Earth military? I am weak." He finally admited. He leaned back against the wall setting there watching her with his strange blue eyes.
His black hair fell in front of his forehead giving him a dark shadow. He wore a black muscle shirt but it was ripped and tattered from performing combat exercises in it, and having been washed far to many times. Daimon stretched, his pale muscles seemed to glow in teh dark. "We are the same and yet your stronger. Stronger because I fled. My mother, father and sister all torn to peices and I couldnt do anything about it except run. I clung to life where as I should have died." He spoke gently. "I know your pain. better then anyone. Irony, is such a pain in the ass." He finally spoke. "Live by the sword, die by the sword." He quoted. He stood. "Director... Your hurt... Are you able to walk or should I carry you?" He was not used to treating people, but he had carried wounded soldiers. He hoped she was not wounded so bad as to she could not walk. He watched her with his insane blue eyes.

Aries listened to him speak, and breathed in heavily now. She shook her head. She couldn't let her own weakness show. Her strength was the last thing that she really had to call her own anymore. She looked up at him, when he asked about him really being fit to lead the army. She answered simply, "Trust." she said softly. "I trust you more than anyone else in my army. I trust you to do good. I trust you to repent for your cowardice in the form of leading the army that I may not be able to continue. You are a soldier. As am I. We are both weak. Our weakness is knowing the true carnage that can be brought upon this world." she said softly now, wisdom showing in her deep jade eyes.
She was young, but she was wise in every way, shape and form. She looked at him gently now. "The only pain I am in is the pain of knowing that these memories...these terrors...will never end. They will haunt me until I am driven to take the cowards way out, if I don't die first in battle." she said softly. She was so close to just letting go and explaining what she herself had seen.
She stood up now, limping a bit. The dream had made the nerves in her knee hurt again, and she grimaced in agony when she took the second step. It was like she'd been shot all over again. She ignored it as much as she could, and made her way over to the dresser in her room. Her white tank top was covered in her own blood, and she faced away from him as she pulled it off.
An intricate design of long ivy snaked down her back, up around her shoulders and around her hips to her stomach. She'd gotten the entire thing tattooed when she was 18, and fresh out of high school. she soon slipped on a new tank top, breathing in slowly. She pulled her long red hair up into a loose ponytail and turned back around, gazing at Daimon softly. She couldn't bear it anymore. She leaned against the dresser, and slid down it slowly.
She didn't know what lead her to it, but she let herself begin. She began to explain to him everything she'd seen and done in Moscow, how she'd lost her knee, what had happened in that room with the children, how her arm had been removed. She let everything go, describing in so much detail that by the time she was finished, she was shaking, her gaze distant. She shook her head, and dropped her head into her palms, breathing in heavily. It felt good to get everything off her chest. It was a relief to get it off her shoulders, the weight of it was gone. The oppression of it disappeared.
She looked up at him, apologized promptly, and then rose to her feet, moving back to her bed, limping worse than ever. She sighed as she settled down on the edge, the pressure of the pain in her knee turned to a dull throb. She watched him calmly now, looking tired.

Should he hug her? No... Hugging was a sign of weakness, comfort. His eyes looked at her with their glowing bluish green color. His black hair fell in front of his eyes as he stood up and stretched. He walked over to her and set next to her. He listened to her story... He looked to her. "Director. Im no longer the same boy I was in moscow. Im a soldier now... a true soldier who cares nothing for his own life." He promised. "Yet I care about you, and I care about the others." He spoke softly. "I dont want to see you all die." He admited.
"However, I swear to you to lead the army if you were to change." He promised. "If we lose our sanity death would be the quickest and easiest escape. I trust you... as you trust me." He spoke softly as he placed his hand on her shoulder treating her more like a man then a woman. He stood up walking over to the broken mirror looking in it. His handsome unscared face... so many carried scars and yet he was flawless... His fingers traced over his face. No scars. His blue eyes closed for a moment before reopening. He turned to look at her. "we got each other, director. We got the division and its our duty to protect them." He spoke softly. "to protect the world from what happened to us. Its to late for us though. You and I both know even if the world survives the war we will be killed for what we are. If we were to destroy the demonic the government would have all tainted light soldiers killed... and for good reason. My sanity is on a string... as is yours." He spoke calmly.
He moved in front of her, with the speed beyond a demonic. His hand reached slowly down to her. He was going to help her up. "Get up and get on my back Ill carry you to the medic director. Or if you prefer you can stay here and perhaps get your wounds infected. were not invincible and dieing to something as small as blood loss from a nightmare seems a bit to sad. If I must die Ide like it to be in an army of demonic.

"Thoust will to thy's demise is based on thy's will to live..." she recited softly. "The world is thy abyss, and the endless swath of thy gods eyes is our salvation, our sanctuary..." she whispered softly now, looking past him and to the wall in front of her. Her green gaze had turned distant and thrown her back into the time of Moscow. She took in a sharp breath, and then her gaze came back. More blood ran down her lip, and she wiped it away slowly now.
She staggered to her feet, her knee throbbing. "I think I pulled a nerve loose while I was training today. I didn't feel anything at first...but now it's nearly unbearable. The pain is that of equal to the sound that deemed my knee unrepairable." she said softly now, looking up at him. Her scarlet red bangs fell in front of her eyes, and she stepped slowly past him.
"I'm not helpless. I dragged myself through three days in Hell with one working leg, and one arm. I can walk to the medic." she said calmly now, a slight bitterness in her voice. She moved towards the other corner of the room, and hooked her gun and sword to her belt, making sure they were tightly secured before turning to look back at him.
This day in time, if you walked about without a weapon in range, it was suicide. The Demonic would crush you like you were a think piece of shale that was crumbling from erosion on a riverbank. Aries watched Daimon coldly. The scar that lay down her right eye showed a bit more in the light than it normally did. She was being stubborn, and didn't like to let the fact be known that she really did need help.

"I wouldn't know... I bear no scars." He spoke softly. "No scars." He repeated very gently. "Except here." He laughed slightly before pointing to his chest. His heart... IT felt like it was tearing in half. The emotions that were just simply chemical reactions swept over him and haunted him in the darkness that was the dimensions of his complex soul. He stood up walking over to her. "Stop being so worried about looking strong to me. Your sense of strength and honor mean nothing to a soldier who has been where you have been." He spoke softly. "Director... Im here for you to lean on. Its my job." He spoke softly before reaching her his hand. "If you wont let me carry you at least let me make sure you dont fall down and kill yourself. Your already wounded." He spoke gently.
"I dont worry about you as a person. I worry about you as a commander." he lied. He tried to show her that he simply cared only about the logical fact that she was his commander but he thought of her as someone who understood him cause they were both in moscow. They both witnessed the destruction of their very worlds that day. He bit his lip lightly. His hair fell in front of his eyes. "Forgive me director... I shouldnt be so bold." He spoke before moving back against the wall.

"You are forever forgiven, Cross." she said gently now, looking up at him. "I've always been so...conservative with how I've acted. I've never shown weakness, even as a child. Never really had someone to watch over me, like an angel. Granted, you aren't the purest of angels." she mused, in that wise tone that she tended to speak in at times. "Yet, you are pure enough for even the purest of souls." she said softly.
She grasped the doors handle. "Don't worry about being bold. It's your job. I don't keep you near me to have you keep your mouth shut. You're here to help guide me when you feel I need it, give opinions. We are both here to protect one another in this war. We aren't human any longer, therefore the need to keep each other in our sights is a greater need than any of this Divisions goals." she said softly now.
She took a step, and then instantly gave a grimace of immense pain, right as her knee gave out from under her. She hit the ground hard and took in a sharp breath as the entire lower half of her leg went numb. She gave no other sound to give away how much it hurt her. Her throat was raw from screaming in her terrors. She gritted her teeth, her breath whistling through her teeth. She leaned forward a bit, crumpling under the agony that overcame her. The gunshot to her knee had been a scratch in pain, compared to the feeling that ran through her body now.
This time, she needed the help. She couldn't even move her leg, and looked up at Daimon now. "You're help is needed now..." her voice was weak with the agony of this new wound. She dug her nails into her own palms, trying to keep herself from screaming as the blood in her veins pumped harder, causing her leg, the part that she could feel however, to throb with even stronger waves of pain.

He was already there. Daimons speed was something unique. It was recorded that he was one of the fastest Tainted light soldiers to ever be created. He was next to her in a flash of a moment. His arms moved under her lifting her very carefully upwards. She weighed little to him. He held her like she was important cargo rather then a woman. "Its likely your Acl, with your tainted abilities you should heal faster then normal humans would but if this was a human injury... You would find that The Acl is quite the pain in the ass." He smiled.
"Regardless Ill carry you down there Director. You cant afford to walk on that leg. Just hold on. I dont want to drop you." he mused. He looked at her with his soft eyes. "If I ever get hurt... You gotta carry me... deal?" He asked her very softly. He was simply joking. He was trying to get a lighter mood out of her. They were the same though she was far more solem. He hid his darkness through the tears of jokes. It was the soldiers ironic way of staying sane. All soldiers are like this. Dark humor.

Aries took in a sharp breath when he lifted her into his arms to carry her. She gritted her teeth harder, barely able to nod. She leaned her head back for a second, feeling a tear run down her cheek. She gripped onto him tightly, like her life depended on it. "Whatever it is, just please hurry...I don't think I can stay awake with this..." she whispered now. By awake she meant sane. If her eyes closed, the Demonic hiding in the back of her mind would take control of her, and it would be the end for her. She knew it.
She struggled to keep her eyes open, looking up at him as he walked. "Yeah. I'll carry you. Lord knows I'm strong enough to..." she whispered weakly, in an attempt to stay sane. She took in a sharp breath, and lifted her hand up very suddenly to her neck, where she grasped a thin gold chain with a cross on it. She bit her lip, feeling blood run down from the corner of her mouth.
The demonic was going nuts, trying everything it could to make her sleep, but Aries held on tight. She watched the ceiling now. "I can't picture myself with a cane..." she mused, keeping her voice light, by force.

He stepped off into a flicker. He was fast... Speed was everything after all. They were at the medics and doctors were all around. It was a large building filled with doctors and patients, it was the bases hospital. "Sir! Mam! What happened?" One of the docs asked. "Demonic attacked, we handled them." He lied. It would look horrible for them to know that the sanity of their officers were on a thin line. He bit his lip gently before her set her down.
"I think Her acl is torn up pretty bad and shes just pretty roughed up. Take care of her make sure shes ok." He gently ran his hand over her shoulder. "Well sooner or later youll have to carry me... whether to safety or my grave." He laughed ironically. More dark humor. The doctors seemed to swarm in on them trying to make her as comfortable as possible. Daimon Set down in a nearby chair with her. "Should I stay or would you prefer I leave director?" he asked her gently.

"Stay! For thou may need to take this Directors life..." she whispered, breathless and pained. She closed her eyes, and then they snapped right back open. she couldn't fall asleep, because then, these medics wouldn't live to see another day. "Don't put me under." she ordered, and gave a hinting look towards Daimon. She moaned in agony as one of the doctors touched her leg, pressing slightly.
"This will hurt." he said quietly, and a couple of other Doctors showed up on her sides. They began to press her knee back into place, and she leaned her head back, gripping the table as hard as she could. She took in an incredibly sharp breath, and let out a scream that could make the devil himself shudder back in surprise. She let herself relax on the table, grinding her teeth very hard now. A headache was creeping up into her body, but it was absolutely nothing compared to the pain that salvaged her body.
The force of the blood pumping through her veins was becoming more inviting. The voice of the Demonic was urging her to give in, that he could take the pain away completely, now that her knee and ACL were back in place. She was so tempted to give in, but she began to push that thought from her mind. It was so tempting though...the pain to be gone...the raw power flowing through her veins...NO. She wouldn't do it. She refused. She let out a soft whisper, the raw agony in her voice even stronger than before.
"Daimon..."

He took her hand in his. His eyes peirced her. His hand was ice cold against her. "comon Soldier." He spoke coldly and solemly but something new was in his voice. Concern... He held her hand now. "Director... so many need you. You cant let them down! Stay with us!" He shouted now. One of the doctors messed up by hitting her leg on the way out and daimon hit him hard in the chest with the back of his hand sending him flying through the room breaking his ribs
. "Help her... if she slips under, if she doesnt recover... Ill kill you all." His eyes changed crimson.... They closed and turned back to blue as he reopened them... "Oh... god... Im sorry." He spoke softly. The guy was knocked out but not dead. "Sir, we will do our best." The doctor assured rather shocked. He ran over to the downed doctor. "Are you fucking crazy? Thats a tainted light officer.... Those guys are fucking monsters." The guy whispered to the other doctor so low it was difficult to hear. Daimon heard though and he knew she heard. He gripped her hand as if it were a mans hand. "Soldier.... Soldier... We fucking need you." He spoke to her his voice cold.

Aries listened quietly to his pleading. "I'm...trying..." she whispered softly, feeling her body become heavy in her exhaustion. She opened her eyes a bit wider to look up at Daimon, and then felt herself slipping away. She suddenly had no more control, and she was forced back from her own mind. The pain disappeared and she struggled to bring herself back. She began screaming internally, trying to get Daimons attention, but everything she tried, failed.
Meanwhile, a sadistic laugh erupted from Aries's lips, as she listened to one of the Doctors tell the other that they were monsters. Aries pushed Daimon away, and sat up abruptly. "You wanna see a real monster?" her voice was sweet, sadistic, that of a seductress. She began chuckling louder, glaring with pure red eyes at the Doctors that were crowded around the room. "I'll show you a real monster..." she mused.
Within Aries's own mind, she kept trying to call out for help, or to at least let Daimon know that it had begun. The real her stopped, and concentrated hard, finding a leak in Daimons mind that would allow her to project her thoughts towards him. She tried over and over, soon thinking she'd figured it out. She thought hard, trying to force her way into his thoughts...
"I'm sorry...I was too weak...it has begun...you know what to do, dear soldier..."

He gripped her hand tight for a moment. "Get everyone out of here... Evacuate the base. Thats a order. Give the order to evac the base!" HE screamed the doctors moved on his word shocked. They had to follow his orders though, he was her 2nd. They moved out of the room. His blade slid out of its sheath the blade was incrediable it was the first time he drew it in front of her. Metal walls surrounded the walls. "... So this is what we become?" he asked gently. He looked down at his hands blood dripped down his lips as his eyes turned crimson.
"Director.... Director..." His body shook for a moment as he laughed to himself in his own insanity. "... What... do I do?" He asked as he fell to his knees in front of her bed. He knew she would be up in a moment. The demonic inside of her would come... and he would have to fall. His blade peirced the ground in front of him. He bit his lip softly and blood dripped down his face hitting the white tile. The base was evacuating, everyone was to leave, everyone was to be flown off, or sent out by boat. He knew what would happen... they couldn't contain her. Other demonic would come soon. They sensed each other, they sensed that a demonic queen had awoken. Daimon stood up. "How... can I fight you..." He cried... "Please... director dont leave me!" He screamed.

The Demonic Aries rose to her feet, grinning sadistically. She looked down on Daimon as he dropped to the floor in front of her. She pulled her own sword from it's sheathe, and pointed it towards Daimon. "You haven't a choice but to fight, human." Aries said snidely.
Aries was struggling with herself, trying to force her way back into her own mind, fully and completely. Every time she tried, the memories of Moscow were forced at her. She went through episode after episode of Moscow, over and over again. She felt her psyche fading, and she was finding it hard to go on. She couldn't give up. She tried and tried again, never giving up the fight to take herself back.
The Demonic side of Aries glared down at Daimon. "Does someone care for this girl that I've taken as my new host? What would this man say if this woman's life was ripped away, piece...by...piece...? Every memory forcefully removed, every ideal of who she is and was...gone...not only mentally, but physically as well...what if I ripped her body limb from limb, and made you watch?"

"I would... morn her... As I morn my fallen friends..." He stood now... his eyes were crimson. "I... will... kill you..." He promised. "No matter where you go... I will hunt you... I cant let her suffer... " He flickered. He was the fastest Tainted soldier. He was known for his speed. his blade came up behind her back and aimed directly at her spinal cord. He would sever it and kill her if he could. It had to end. He knew his friend wasnt there anymore. Blood ran down his lips as his crimson eyes waited for her reaction. He waited for his blade to slip through her skin, or hit the steel of her sword. was she fast enough to keep up with him?
He moved in front of her in a shadow of speed uncaring whether or not his blade hit its mark. His sword came down at her from the front to slice her in half. His speed was hard to see, rather then keep up with him on a physical base. He was fast... His hair fell in front of his eyes as blood ran down his lip. It took so much from him to hurt her... yet he had to put her out of her misery... how he wished to save her.

Aries glared at him, watching as he moved to attack her. She twisted around, letting her metal arm hit his blade and keep from hitting her body. She snarled at him. "There you go, boy. Kill your friend. Kill her and then blade yourself for her death..." the Demonic mused, a grin crossing her face. The Demonic began to laugh now, taking Aries's voice as it's own.
Aries was still fighting, stronger and stronger she fought, trying to stop all of this. She began using logic to fight her way out and back into the open. "It's...not your turn!" Aries screamed inside, and felt a rush of heat surrounding the body that no longer seemed to be her own.
On the outside, the Demonic suddenly looked startled, suddenly terrified. The Demonic froze, and the temperature in the room rose. The Demonic screamed into the air, and began to shake a bit. Aries forced herself back to the forefront of her own mind. She grabbed Daimon's blade as it headed for her body, forcing it through the right side of her chest. Blood dripped down the side of her mouth.
"I won't leave you alone...so easily..." she whispered softly now. All pain from before was gone, and the new pain of the fresh chest wound took place. "I've got it under control for now...but I'm going to need help keeping it that way..." she whispered now.

The had peirced through her and he pushed backwards hoping to pin her to the wall. his eyes were cold crimson as he looked at her. "It will... always be a part of you Director... " He did not pull the blade out, that was rule one, if something gets stuck inside you you do not pull it out.. You keep it in. Not to mention she could change at any moment. If he pulled the blade out her chance of bleeding to death would be way to high. He looked at her with his crimson eyes.
They softened. "areis... " He whispered gently. He leaned in his forehead against hers. "What do I do? If I let you go that thing can retake you... It could destroy everyone... kill everyone... Yet... I cant hurt you.. we are allies... we are friends." His breath was warm against her neck... He cried... Tears ran down his cheek. "... Areis..." He cried...

She pulled him into a comforting hug, ignoring the stabbing pain in her chest. "I won't let myself go so easily...I'll fight until I die before I let go again." she whispered quietly. When he said the word friends, she couldn't help but smile. She pulled away from him, leaning back as the blade shifted a bit. More blood ran down from the corners of her mouth. She took in a deep breath.
"If you wish to kill be so that doesn't happen, go ahead..." she said softly, closing her eyes for a moment. She took in a slow breath, trying not to move too much now. "I think I need to get away to a place where hurting anyone would be out of the question...until I can get help, or I can control it more..." she whispered now.
She looked at her friend gently. "Dear man, don't cry for me...there is nothing to cry about." she said softly now, lifting her hand to wipe tears off his cheek. "But right now, I need your help...If I'm to leave to a secluded place, you will have to stay with me and give orders from that base, and make sure that if I do lose it again, that I don't leave..." she whispered.
The blade was beginning to hurt her more and more and she bit her lip, taking in a sharp breath and then groaning from the pain that came with it.

He pulled the blade out but before the arteries could break he sealed it shut with small metalic particles so no blood would come out. It would work for the time being since he had not hit a major organ. He pulled her into his arms. Her hug was warm and it made him feel better. He pulled her off the ground carrying her now wraping the wound in metal bandage wrap that was extremely thin, so it was more like putting aluminum foil over the wound. IT would stop it from bleeding by applying preassure.
"I... Couldnt hurt you Areis... I couldnt..." He whispered softly placing his forehead against hers as he walked with her in his arms. "I will take you to a base.... There should be a few choppers left." he picked his radio out of his pocket. "General Cross here the base is secure for now, the director... and I had a problem that needed to be secure, sorry for the inconvience, you guys can come home. Neither me or Her will be here though, we are leaving for another base. The second in command will be whoever the highest rank is among you." His voice broadcasted to all the officers. Most were Lts but there was one Colonel.
Daimon held her softly, carefully as he walked. "... Ill protect you, soldier, until your better." He promised. He carried her slowly outside. The moon was bright in the sky. His blade was sheathed on his back and it dripped with her blood. It made him feel sad... cold... and yet her warmth made him happy.

She felt him seal and wrap the wound with this powers and flinched when the blade was pulled from her chest. She gripped onto him tightly when he picked her up and smiled as he leaned his forehead against hers. She'd never really had a true friend. This man, whom of which was just like her, had become the first real friend that she'd ever had. She smiled, even though she was in pain from the wound that now assaulted her body.
As he walked with her, she felt herself become tired. The Demonic was queit for now, probably licking it's wounds before it tried to take control again. She thought for a moment. She didn't know what she would do if she ever hurt Daimon. It'd kill her. She bit her lip a bit, and looked up at him slightly. "What base are we retreating to?" she asked softly now, looking innocent in his arms. For once she felt weak, vulnerable...and to be honest...it felt good to be the one being cared for in such a manner as this.
She lifted one arm and ran her hand through her long red hair, breathing in slowly. She looked up at the moon now, her breaths coming in shallow waves, so that the pain wasn't too much to handle...

".. Japan..." he whispered. "if we are to be somewhere confined, let our confinement be beautiful... cherry blossoms rain down every day from the trees this time of year." He whispered gently. She seemed gentler now. Cherry blossoms were beautiful to him, the pink flowers fell from the sky creating a whirlwind of colors and beauty. It was a delicate thing. It was something he had seen long ago as a child. He stepped into the chopper no one was there but someone would be there shortly. He could see the navy ships coming back to port. They had set out on his orders, they probally thought him a fool to order a mass retreat. However it was necessary.
He waited with her in his arms holding her gently against him. The sounds of their breathing made him tired. In a few minutes the soldiers were back at the base, most were not even in uniform, most were in a mix match of clothing, from civies to night wear. One of the piolets reconized the two officers in his chopper and jogged over to it... "Sir you require transport correct?" The guy asked. "Yes soldier." Daimon nodded. The guy looked down at the director. "Shes hurt, we should get her treated first. "No... Get in and take us." Daimon ordered. The man merely complied getting into the helicopter and taking it up into the air. He did as he was told.
Daimon slowly ran his hand over the directors cheek brushing her hair out of her eyes. "Its ok... Ill hold you and you hold me..." He whispered softly. "were... the same." He spoke gently. They were high in the air now. "True friends." He promised. "Our destines were carved in stone long ago... and now we will live them out as we were meant to. They flew through the air in the chopper as he held her in his arms in the back seat.

Aries felt tired now. She leaned on Daimon, her eyes closing. Her breathing turned shallow, and she was soon asleep. She didn't have a need to fight with the Demonic that had assaulted her mind earlier. She even smiled as she slept, oblivious to the world around her. The sound of the chopper helped lull her deeper into slumber.
It was only a couple minutes, and she opened her eyes. The pain was disappearing gradually...the healing power that ran through their veins helped. She sighed softly, looking up at him. Her green eyes glimmered in the soft light of the plane. She didn't move though, seeming dazed. For a few moments she didn't remember what was happening. She rubbed her eyes, and smiled up at him.
"How long until we are gonna get there?" she asked, not really knowing how long she had been asleep. She looked about the chopper, seeming slightly curious about everything.

"well I would assume within an hour or so." He spoke softly. He had stayed awake. His soft blue eyes looked down at her. He gently ran his hand across her cheek. "Its ok." He whispered. "When we get there we will get you all patched up. Ill stay with you... get us an officers quarters and from there we can run our operation against the demonic." He whispered.
_______ Within an hour they were there. They touched down in Nagano Japan. He looked out the chopper as they landed. The sun was up high in the sky. Soldiers stood in a battalion to meet the two high ranked generals. "PRESENT ARMS!" A commander shouted. Instantly all the soldiers saluted, marine sgts pulled their swords out placing the blade in front of them at present arms. Daimon lifted her in his arms stepping out of the chopper. He was instantly greeted by a Colonel. "Sir, We got your message, Nagano is at your disposal. "good work marine." Daimon spoke coldly as he passed them. He passed the soldiers, all looking straight ahead still saluting."If you will follow me Ill take you and her to her room." Daimon carried Areis to the hospital, and laid her down in a vacant bed. This room was luxurious. It had been prepared just for her.

Aries had passed back out before they had landed, and hadn't been awake for the landing. She'd missed all of the soldiers salutes and such, and woke up as Daimon laid her down in the hospital bed. She looked about the room, and observed the luxury. The first words that came of her mouth was the critiquing of the room.
"The resting place of a soldier should not be that of a kings room." she whispered now, closing her eyes again. She seemed weaker than she had been previously. Her breathing was heavier now. She opened her green eyes once again, and moved a bit, placing herself in a less painful way to lay. She glanced up Daimon quietly. "You look...slightly...terrified?" she tried to place his emotions, and didn't quite know if she was correct in her placements.
She waited for a Doctor to come in, and so far no one did. She took in a sharp breath as her heartbeats became slightly fast, and the throbbing of them made her wince in the pain from her wound. She gasped a bit, looking like she was in agony.

Daimon lightly ran his hand through her hair getting it out of her eyes. "Guess they thought you were an army princess." he mused. "terrified?" He asked, his voice stoic for a moment. "... I guess I am... Im worried... about you. Its my fault, after all Im the one who gave you this wound." He whispered. The doctors came in slowly, not frantically like they had at the previous hospital. "Well the steel that surrounded the nerves seems to have worked, however we are going to need you to remove it before we seal the arteries." The doctor explained. Daimon nodded moving his hand slowly and the steel came out of her chest and into the air before dropping onto the ground. it had stopped her from bleeding. They moved to her side and began stiching up the wound. Daimon held her hand in his. He watched them biting his lip softly.

Aries actually watched as they began to stitch her up. Another person entered into the room. A female nurse. She looked at Aries and then began asking for all her information. Aries stopped her and just began reciting it all like she was used to this. Aries gripped Daimons hand as she looked towards the nurse, beginning her recitation.
"Full Name, Amarrisalee Aries Enyanna Randalle-Chase. Age, 21. Gender, Female. ID Number, 57639. Rank, General. Position in the Division, Director. Allergies, alcohol based products, including medical alcohol. Medical problems, prosthetic left arm, replaced right knee, ACL dislocation yesterday, PTSD, and a history of Asthma. Parents, Helga Chase and Georg Randalle. Siblings, a sister whom of which is in a sanitarium in Australia. Her name is Isabella Ray Randalle-Chase Liam. Anything else?" Aries recited calmly, flinching every once and a while as they stitched her up.
The nurse looked slightly startled as she looked up from writing everything. "Were you in Moscow? Did you go to college, if so, where? When did you graduate High School? What city and country were you born in? Sorry for all these questions..." the nurse said, a certain look in her eye that made Aries suspicious.
"Yes, I was in Moscow. I went to college at Yale, for Medicine, and Performing Arts, then soon went into ROTC. I graduated High School at the age of 15, at the top of my class. Guess you could say I was one of the few prodigies of my time. I was born in Hamburg, Germany..." she said slowly, her green eyes watching the nurse. "And your not here for Medical purposes. You're one of the scientists that helped to inject me with the Demonic DNA in my body. You're here to evaluate my sanity?"
The nurse instantly looked nervous, like she'd been caught. She nodded slowly, gulping now. She bit her lip taking a step back towards the door. It slammed shut behind her before she could even reach it. The nurse turned to look at it with a terrified look and then turned back around looking fearful of Aries now.
"Well, write this down on your little chart for me. I've gone off the deep end. And guess what? You and your little team of scientists will be working day and night until you come up with a serum to control the Demonic half of Enhanced Humans. Because you know what? It makes them go insane...and then they are the most dangerous things in the world. They can kill humans, Demonic, and Tainted, and not be phased. So then, the war is against them, and not these damned monsters that we're fighting!" she looked pissed now, and was finding it hard not to throw the Doctors at her sides against the wall to get to the "nurse" in front of her. "You will do it, because it is my will. And in this Division of the army, my will is law. You have a month. Happy working." Aries snarled.
The door opened and Aries pulled her hand from Daimon's. "Let this be a warning to you, dear nurse." she mused with a smirk on her face. She motioned towards the nurse, and she flew back and out of the room, hitting the wall on the other side of the door. The door slammed shut behind her. Aries then looked back up at the ceiling, looking thoroughly irritated now.

Daimons eyes turned crimson for a moment and then changed back to blue. It was strange as if he had felt her rage, for a moment he wanted to rip the nurses head from her body. He leaned back in the chair. "Director... You need your sleep." he instructed. "shall I go... or would you prefer me to stay?" he asked her gently. He looked away from her. "My sanity is not much better then yours... I exist on a thread... Though nothing poses to take me over the blood inside me is still demonic, and it was not a simple demonic... it was a demonic lord." He bit his lip nervously.
"Thats life though, I am what I hate." He mused. He walked over to the door. "Shall I stay with you the night? Or should I go ahead and get our quarters up, I assume you want separate quarters." He laughed now. He seemed to be trying to get away from the rage she had given him earlier. It was strange, almost as his demonic side was feeding on the hate that was radiating from her very soul. It was scary.
